Steps for Placing an Order

With our on-line store, ordering with The Leading Note from Canada or the U.S.A. is easier than ever! Please click here for information on customers outside of Canada or the U.S.A.

1. Assemble Your Order

  • Search or browse our on-line catalogue to find the products you want (can’t find something?) and click the Add To Cart button to put your order together.
  • When you’re ready to check out, click on the Shopping Cart icon to see your cart contents.

2. Choose Your Shipping/Pickup Option

  • If your order is to be shipped out, input your contact information and shipping address – or, if you already have an account, simply log in. If you would like your information to be stored for future orders, you will be given the option to set up an account with us at the end of the checkout process.
  • For customers in the Ottawa-Gatineau area, there is the option to:
    • pick your order up at Long & McQuade Ottawa, 1193 Hunt Club Road
    • pick your order up at Long & McQuade Orleans, 3791 St Joseph Boulevard
    • pick your order up at Long & McQuade Kanata, 66 Hearst Way
  • Enter any special instructions for your order. If you have any special shipping requirements (e.g. rush shipping) see our Shipping Costs page for instructions.

3. Pay For Your Order

  • To pay for your order on-line, you may use the secure PayPal Express Checkout. Please note that you do not have to have a PayPal account set up in order to do this – you may use your credit card to pay via PayPal (although you will be given the option to set an account up at the end of the process).
  • If you would prefer not to pay on-line, choose the Manual Payment option. You then have several options to make your payment:
    • send an e-mail transfer to (from within Canada only),
    • phone us with your credit card information, or
  • Organizations such as choirs, orchestras and schools may use the Manual Payment option to pay within 30 days (Commercial Account Application required – please enquire for details).

4. Sit Back and Wait for Delivery – or – Pick Up Your Order

  • In addition to an automatically generated email sent in response to your online order, you will receive a separate email thanking you and letting you know the status of the individual titles.
  • If all titles are in stock, your order will either be shipped to you or be ready to pick up within 1 business day.
  • For items that are not currently in stock, you will be provided with information on expected delivery times (and kept updated with any unexpected delays).
