Store Location

The Leading Note is located in the heart of downtown Ottawa, Ontario at 370 Elgin St. (at the corner of Frank street – right above the Manx pub and next door to the Elgin Street Diner).

The store is easily accessible from the Queensway (using the Metcalfe St. exit) and it’s a pleasant walk from anywhere in the downtown area. To put things in perspective, we’re only a 10-15 minute walk from the Parliament buildings and less than 5 minutes from the Rideau canal.

***NEW***  Elgin Street Reconstruction  ***NEW***

Beginning in January, 2019, the Elgin Street reconstruction project is going to result in the street being completely dug up for the entire year. However, throughout this project, care will be taken that all businesses will remain accessible. And the good news for our customers is that Gladstone Ave. (one small block from our store) will remain one of the few open intersections crossing Elgin St. This means that it will be very easy to get to our store from the Queensway by taking Metcalfe (around the Canadian Museum of Civilization) to Gladstone and then parking either along Gladstone or on the neighbourhood streets to the east of Elgin.

Please see this map for directions on how to access the store from either the Queensway or other directions. This second, more general map shows all of the impacts on the neighouring streets.

During the project, OC Transpo buses #5 and #14 (which used to go down Elgin Street) will be re-routed to Cartier (please see this map for the modified routes). The closest bus stop for the #14 will now be around the corner on Gladstone (just west of Elgin). The nearest stops on the #5 route will be on Cartier, one near Lewis and another near McLeod.
