Sponsorships & Donors

Our sponsors and donors are socially conscious members of our community that are equally passionate about their business, and the business of contributing back to their community. They are passionate about the arts, especially music, and about the benefits and well being of our children within our communities. They are leaders in making our city a better place to live and a safer and more caring environment for our children.

Program Needs

The following is a list of the program’s needs that are eligible for support from a sponsor:

  • instruments & instrument maintenance
  • teachers' salaries*
  • music*
  • OYOA scholarships
  • administrative costs:
    • administrator's salaries*
    • rent
    • leagal costs*
    • accounting costs*
    • insurance costs (instruments & liability)
    • security checks
    • printing
    • translation
    • miscellaneous things that we haven't even thought of yet

At the start of the program, all items marked with an * were donated. Teachers donated their time, The Leading Note donated the music and The Leading Note Foundation administrators, Tina Fedeski, Gary McMillen, Margaret Tobolowska and Sheilah Craven all donated their time. The teachers and administrators believe passionately in this program and were motivated to start immediately. However, it is vital to the long-term success of The Leading Note Foundation to be able to continue to attract the most qualified teachers for our young students in a growing, thriving program.

Sponsorship Opportunites

The Leading Note Foundation Orkidstra Program provides an unprecedented sponsorship opportunity. To support such an exciting program provides a vehicle for sponsors to not only promote their business but to send a message of good corporate citizenship in many areas: that investment in children, regardless of their background, is vital for everyone; music education is important and a fun way to learn so many invaluable skills; mentorship is a great tool for learning and giving.
Sponsors may support The Leading Note Foundation by:

  • the provision of funds
  • the provision of required goods and/or services in kind (e.g. donation of instruments; legal services, accounting services, printing, advertising, translating etc.)
  • a purchase of an instrument for those children from a low income family
  • sponsorship of outreach and recruiting programs in beacon schools
  • sponsorship of a fund-raising concert (e.g. concert hall rental fee)
  • donation of a good instrument (not a “beginner” instrument) to The Leading Note Foundation Fine Instrument Bank
  • donation towards The Leading Note Foundation Endowment Fund to support the program to fund scholarships, fine instruments and even local programs which can be named after the donors
  • any combination of the above
